Sitting down outside,
The Sun was in the sky,
The blinding cloud of eiderdown,
Shone into my eyes,
I was smoking my first fag of the day,
From a packet of twenty Craven "A",
And as the plumes of smoke they rose,
All the insects were climbing 'round my toes,
And I sat back and I thought of the day,

Chorus: Smoking one of my twenty Craven "A"s,
I sat back and I thought for a while,
Smoking one of my Craven "A" milds,

Outside standing up,
The Sun had gone away,
The overcast scenery,
Was all that had stayed,
I had finished my first fag of the day,,
From a packet of twenty Craven "A",
And after dropping the fag-end on the floor,
I went inside and I firmly closed the door,

Chorus.
